Carondelet House

The Carondelet House at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center helps families stay together in their time of need. It is a place where a patient coming to the medical center may stay during outpatient procedures, treatment or other care. The family of a patient may also stay there, which enables them to be closer to their loved ones.

Patients undergoing radiation therapy (cancer treatment) and family members who accompany them may stay at the House as well. The Carondelet House offers short-term accommodations in a secure environment at no charge for patients and their families in keeping with our philosophy. Donations are accepted.

The Carondelet House served as a residence for nursing students starting in 1946 but then became a convent when the school closed in 1953. The Sisters moved to smaller residences in 1983, and three years later the Carondelet House was remodeled to its present form to provide overnight accommodations. There are 27 rooms available, each with two beds. Some of the rooms have private bathrooms, while others share a bath suite or a dormitory bathroom. The rooms are modest, clean and comfortable. There are lounge areas in the upper and lower levels of the building, with a kitchen on the first floor. A microwave and refrigerator are accessible to all who stay. In addition, the hospital cafeteria is available across the street. Housekeeping, a laundry facility, and a tobacco free environment are all available. There are accommodations for people with disabilities as well. Sorry, no pets are allowed.
