Lamaze® Preparation for Childbirth
This 12 hour Lamaze® childbirth class offers expectant parents an opportunity to receive answers to all their questions about giving birth and reviews what typically happens when mom comes to the hospital to deliver. Through these classes, parents will learn the signs of labor, relaxation skills, paced breathing and comfort management. Moms and their support persons rehearse for labor to help ease anxiety surrounding the birth experience. This comprehensive course also addresses post-partum emotions. We of`fer instruction in car seat purchase and installation by a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration certified instructor. The six week course meets on weeknights and is offered at the Idaho Street location. Our teachers recommend that expectant parents complete this course two to four months prior to their due date.

Lamaze International has been a household name in childbirth education. It is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote, support and protect normal birth through education and advocacy. Lamaze International has also established the Lamaze Approved Provider Program, whereby hospitals, birth centers, group practices and other institutional providers are recognized for meeting Lamaze® standards and offering excellence in childbirth education.
