Carly Nordeen

Carly Nordeen, 11 years old and soon to be a 6th grader at Camelot Elementary in Lewiston, joined with a friend to hold a neighborhood bake sale on July 2 and donated her share of the proceeds to the volunteer organization at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Carly’s generous gift of $26 will be combined with other funds raised by the volunteers that go toward special projects in the hospital to enhance the medical care available in our community.

When asked why she chose the SJRMC volunteers, Carly said “the pink ladies were all such a big help when her stepdad Scotty was in the hospital with an aneurysm and she wanted to thank them.”

Carly, pictured here with her mom Julie and stepdad Scotty Marvel, said that the biggest sellers at the bake sale were the chocolate chip and white chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Besides helping others, Carly plans to do some camping this summer and babysitting for Kid’s college.

By being kind, hardworking and generous in helping others, Carly shows us what’s right with our kids today! Thank You, Carly.
