Principal Accountant Louise GroatSt. Joseph Regional Medical Center controller Ken Harris was notified by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) that St. Joe’s Principal Accountant Louise Groat has earned the highest scores in the United States on HFMA’s “Core” and “Accounting & Finance” certification tests. Individuals have received the highest score on one test in a single year, but no one has ever received the highest scores on both tests in a single year.

In her honor HFMA is paying her way to its annual meeting to be held in Las Vegas later this month where she will be honored for her achievement.

The Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation is earned by successfully completing HFMA’s certification program. The certification program is designed to prepare individuals for increasingly responsible positions in the healthcare industry. HFMA certification indicates that certified members have demonstrated proficient technical skills and comprehensive understanding of HFMA’s defined body of knowledge.

Groat started with St Joseph Regional Medical Center as an accountant in 1988.

Congratulations Louise on your accomplishment.
