Inpatient Services

For patients who require the support and security of an inpatient setting, the Mental Health Center at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center provides 20 psychiatric beds with 6 beds designated medical-psychiatric beds. The inpatient program offers hope, rapid stabilization, intensive individualized treatment and thorough discharge planning to ensure that patients are linked to ongoing treatment with outpatient providers. With an average stay of five to six days, patients get help and on the road to recovery quickly.

Our skilled clinical team consists of board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, certified therapeutic recreation therapists, chaplains and certified nursing assistants all working together with one goal: to bring hope and rapid recovery to our patients.

Inpatient Treatment Includes:

  • Medical evaluation.
  • Nursing assessment.
  • Psychosocial assessment.
  • Complete lifestyle/living assessment.
  • Medication management.
  • Milieu treatment.
  • Group, individual and family treatment.
  • Discharge planning.
  • Specialty consultation as needed.
  • Chaplain services.
