Volunteer of the Year

Volunteer of the Year - Grace ChurchVolunteers Build a Better World...
and in Grace Church’s case, she’s been doing just that for nearly 30 years at SJRMC where she is being recognized as the 2011 Volunteer of the Year. Grace began volunteering at the hospital in the early 1980’s soon after her employer, Pacific Northwest Bell, moved their office to Spokane. Since then, she has held several Auxiliary Board offices, including that of President. She worked closely with Margaret Skelton for several years on the Five Tastes of Wine, helping to establish that as a signature Auxiliary fund raising event. Grace has also held many volunteer positions over her tenure with SJRMC and is currently a familiar and welcome face in the Emergency Dept. on Thursday mornings where she greets and begins the triage process for patients.

Grace is Building a Better World through many other volunteer activities, within her church and our community. She is a member of the No Boundaries choir and is a member of the St. Mary’s League, Catholic Daughters and Telephone Pioneers. She currently visits the homebound each week, something that she says brings her great joy. Grace is most deserving of the recognition as the 2011 Volunteer of the Year.
