Many women expect the days and weeks after the birth of a new baby to be filled with joy and happiness. Are the feelings and emotions you are experiencing not what you expected? Do you find yourself overwhelmingly sad? The truth is postpartum depression is more common than you think; 1 in 8 women suffer from it. This is a peer-led support group for women experiencing postpartum mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. The goal of this support group is to help women by providing education and offering a comfortable and safe atmosphere to discuss their feelings and experiences with other women.
We hope you will join us and allow us to be part of your journey though the first few months of motherhood. We will meet once a month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. If you have any questions, please contact our Best Beginnings Nurse.
