One of Seattle Magazine’s “Top Docs” brings more than 25 years of cardiology expertise to the Lewis-Clark Valley

LEWISTON, IDAHO – St. Joseph Regional Medical Center announced today that Edward Kim, MD, FACC, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, has joined its staff and will be offering cardiology services to patients throughout the LC Valley and surrounding area.

Dr. Kim brings more than 25 years of experience to St. Joe’s, and in addition to offering general cardiology services, he has extensive experience in invasive and interventional cardiology, implantable cardiac devices, cardiovascular diseases and emergency cardiac care.

“It is rare to have a cardiologist fellowship trained in both general cardiology and interventional cardiology,” said Gretta Jarolimek, Senior Director of Physician Services.  Jarolimek added, “We are thrilled to have Dr. Kim at St. Joe’s.  As the area’s only facility providing emergent cardiac care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, his expertise at St. Joe’s is important as we strive to respond to our region’s cardiac emergencies, meet the ongoing heart health needs of area patients and continue our mission of making communities healthier.”

Dr. Kim joins St. Joe’s from CardioSolution where he served as the Regional Chief Medical Officer and practiced interventional cardiology at Trios Health and Lourdes in the Tri-Cities area and Providence St. Mary’s in Walla Walla.  Prior to that, he was at Evergreenhealth in Kirkland, Washington, with privileges at Virginia Mason and other Seattle-area hospitals.  Dr. Kim has been as a “Top Doc” for a number of years in Seattle and Seattle Met magazines, including being nominated by his peers and listed as a “Top Doctors 2020 Cardiology.”

Dr. Kim graduated with honors from the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania and conducted his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He completed his fellowship in general cardiology at University of California, San Francisco followed by an additional interventional cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins.  He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
