Be a Team Player - Get Your Immunizations
Some people don’t get vaccines for reasons that aren’t true. But getting vaccines is backed by science and supported by doctors all over the world.
August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and the doctors at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center want you to help keep your family and neighbors healthy by staying up to date on your vaccines.
Getting vaccines is a team effort. When you get vaccinated, you protect yourself and help stop diseases from spreading to other people—like your friends, classmates, family, and coworkers. Vaccines also help protect people who can’t fight off sickness easily, like babies, older adults, and those who have weak immune systems.
If you skip your shots, you could get really sick and pass the illness to others. The CDC says that before COVID-19, about 50,000 adults died every year from diseases that vaccines could have stopped.
At St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, we want you to stay healthy. We love seeing you for regular checkups and vaccines – not in the emergency room because of something like the flu or COVID.
