U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, has once again named St. Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) a “2025 Best Hospital for Maternity Care.” The hospital has now earned the accolade as a high performer for maternity care in each of the past three years, and last year was also named by U.S. News as and, one of only 73 hospitals nationwide to receive that designation.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center welcomed the first baby of 2023 at 4:17 p.m. today. Weighing 8 pounds and 8.5 ounces and measuring 21 inches, baby boy Connor was born to Michelle and Andrew Chandler and joins an excited big brother, Liam.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center announced today it is beginning construction of a new rehabilitation unit which will be located on the sixth floor inside the hospital. The $6 million project is scheduled to be finished mid-June 2023. Once complete, the acute rehabilitation unit (ARU) will provide the area's only inpatient rehabilitation and will help adults who have experienced a loss of function or disability due to injury or illness.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center general surgeon Dr. Sallee Jones, PhD, DO, who is an expert in robotic-assisted surgery, recently became one of the region's few physicians to earn the status of "da Vinci Super User" for her extensive experience with the industry-leading da Vinci surgical robot. Dr. Jones has performed nearly 450 procedures using a da Vinci robot at St. Joe's since 2021, including 50-plus in the last quarter.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center published its community benefit report and economic impact for the 2021 calendar year. This yearly report outlines specific ways the hospital is positively contributing to the LC Valley and surrounding area and spotlights the various ways it is working to support the health and well-being of the community it calls home - an investment which has become increasingly essential in recent years.
