crisis intervention services

Behavioral Health Crisis Services are a continuum of services that are provided to individuals experiencing a psychiatric or mental health emergency.  The primary goal of Mental Health Crisis Intervention Services is to stabilize and improve psychological symptoms and distress. After a full crisis assessment, we then engage individuals in an appropriate treatment service to address the problem that caused or contributed to the crisis.

Behavioral Health Crisis Intervention Services are provided 24/7.  The Crisis Intervention Team responds to crisis by phone, in the hospital Emergency Department and in the Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic.

Services We Offer

  • 24/7 Crisis Phone Response:  This service provides a confidential venue for seeking immediate support. The goal is to decrease hopelessness, promote problem-solving and coping skills, and identify persons who are in need of facilitated referrals to medical, healthcare, and/or community support services.
  • Crisis Assessments:  A Behavioral Health Crisis Assessment includes evaluation of the presenting crisis issue and contributing factors, along with a thorough risk assessment.
  • Crisis Intervention Services:  Psychotherapy is a significant component of Crisis Intervention Services.  Throughout the crisis, the Behavioral Health Crisis Intervention Clinician employs therapeutic treatment models to de-escalate the crisis, stabilize the individual, and assist in developing a treatment plan.  Treatment recommendations may or may not include hospitalization, but they always include a safety plan and referrals to needed follow-up care and /or support services.
