LEWISTON, IDAHO – The Idaho Hospital Association selected two St. Joseph Regional Medical Center individuals for prestigious awards in 2017. Joan Agee, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services, was recognized for Excellence in Patient Care. Jerry Myers, Auxiliary President, and volunteer received the 2017 LOVE Award (Leadership of Volunteer Excellence).

The Idaho Hospital Association Award of Excellence in Patient Care recognizes an individual focused on patient care at any level. The recipient of this award must display professional knowledge by being well-read, stay connected to emerging national, state, and local patient care discussions, speak on behalf of what’s best for patients and share knowledge with interested colleagues and various healthcare stakeholders. The recipient must also demonstrate leadership in patient care, foster and develop a culture of safety, and evaluate the importance of patient care innovation.

The LOVE Award is presented to an exemplary adult volunteer. Nominees are the pinnacle of each hospital’s volunteer program and excel in areas such as patient services, community service, fund raising, leadership, or community outreach.

Both Agee and Myers will be recognized in October at the 84th Annual Idaho Hospital Convention in Sun Valley, Idaho.
